Missing Lenk Motorsports is a third generation racing family that have been involved in many different types of racing. The Lenk racing roots can be traced back to the 1950's, in the salt flats of southern California, Don Lenk set many speed records in his 1932 highboy roadster. "Racing is just in our blood", Dale says when asked what motivates the Lenks to the checkered flag. In addition to auto racing, Don was also involved with Spectra Marine racing offshore boats.

Dale's upbringing, around his father and their close relationship, only fueled Dale's urge for racing. In 1980, Dale became involved with off-road racing with close family friend Jerry Penhall. Dale began to co-drive with Jerry as well as sponsoring his racecar. While racing with Jerry in 1985, Dale was asked to stop racing by his wife, Julie who was expecting their first child, Brett. While Dale was still surrounded by the off-road sense, he took a 23 year absence from competitive racing to become a father and focus more on the family.

Soon following first born son Brett, Dale and Julie were blessed with Grant. The Lenk family found their outlet for speed and excitement out at Glamis Sand Dunes. Starting out with quads for a few years, Dale then graduated to "Bucky" which was Jerry Penhalls prerunner. While this was too heavy for the sand dunes, Dale sold "Bucky" to buy one of his many Sand Cars Unlimited sandrails.

In 1996 and after 15 years of marriage, Dale and Julie again were blessed with son Blake, and in 1998 finally a daughter Carlye. The entire Lenk family had grown to love the off-road scene and frequntly made trips to Glamis, San Felipe, Dumont, Ocotillo Wells, and other popular OHV areas. Soon the Lenks enjoyment of weekend desert trips overcame Soccor and Baseball and other such weekend activities. The new Lenk generation began to feel the same fire as Don had introduced to his son Dale many years before.

Upon Dale's 50th birthday, he stated to his wife that he had 2 goals that he would like to achieve in his life. One being to fish in the Bisbee's Black & Blue Billfish tournament and the other to race the Baja 1000. With that being said, Dale proceeded to build what is now called Missing Lenk Motorsports. After winnning the first two races they competed in, Dale says "it has just snow balled from there". Dale and the Lenk family eat sleep and live for off-road racing and will accept nothing but the checkerd flag!
